Roof by footprint can be used for both flat and sloped pitched roofs.
Roof to wall line revit.
On the properties palette set the base constraint to roof line and enter an offset of 2000 and an overhang of 100.
After the sketch is complete finish the roof.
With this line style selected all i need to do is click on each line that i want to apply this style to which is all the lines that make up the perimeter of the roof boundary.
The defines roof slope parameter allows you to toggle which parts of your roof are inclined.
In the image below you can see the lines that i ve changed on the left.
Create the roof of the dormer using the walls we just placed.
This height is relative to the base level of the roof.
But i want it to end at the roof where i painted the red line.
Use the pick walls tool to create 3 of the roof boundary edges.
Use the line segment tool to create the last edge.
Then from the modify tab on your ribbon use the join geometry command and select the 7 1 2 roof and the wall.
Select the wall and use the attach top base button to attach it to the underside of only the 5 1 2 roof.
If you want to bring back the wall join select the wall and click on the small icon like in the image below.
Then choose attach top base 2 and finally select the roof 3.
I hope my problem is clear when you look at the screenshot.
The next step is to drag the boundary point to the limit of the wall.
My problem ist that when i make a section the outer wall goes into the roof.
Sketch mode is used to allow you to define the boundary of your roof.
I just need to go around the rest of the perimeter and apply the overhead line style.
Plate offset from base.
Adjusts the horizontal offset of the line from its associated wall.
The first one is to right click the blue boundary point of the wall and click on disallow join.
Revit then makes the wall meet the underside of the roof correctly.
In the dialog click yes to attach the dormer walls to the roof.

These values position the dormer roof above the main roof.
The height above the base level at which the wall and the roof meet.
For footprint roofs specifies a roof line to be a slope defining line.
It will join in the wrong order and you will need to use the drop down menu next to join to switch the join order.
