Rv Slide Motor Clicking

I have a 2004 crossroads ca per 30 foot with a slide the slide won t go in or out the motor runs and i can hear the shift spinning inside of the tube nothing is broke with the motor now i took the shift off of the motor and the shaft can slide freely in side of the other shaft please help.
