I had to remove the door panel to find out the door lock actuator failed the handle due to age.

Panel is easy to remove with just 2 screws 30 bit in the door handle. You must first remove the cover from the handle used to close the door when getting in the car and the screws are there. Use a putty knife to unclip the door panel. In this video we re going to show you how to remove and re install a rear door panel on this 2004 9 3 four door pretty much the same as any 03 to 11 9 3.

This is for ng 900 but is totally applicable to the og 9 3 you have. Use your torx driver to remove the two t30 screws.
